This site publishes feeds. A feed reader checks them on your schedule and collects whatever is new — nothing is pushed, no account is created, and there is no list anywhere with your name on it. If you have not used one before, a reader is a small application that does for writing what a receiver does for a broadcast: it tunes, it collects, and it keeps what it collects.

Each item carries its full text rather than an excerpt, so the reader holds the whole piece. Once it is collected it reads the same offline as it does here, and it stays readable whether or not this domain is still answering.

Copy the address you want into your reader. Following one in a browser will show you raw XML — that is the reader’s format, not yours.

Directives — hardware projects, framed as numbered field reports — https://f451labs.com/directives/index.xml

Dispatches — notes, observations, and short essays — https://f451labs.com/dispatches/index.xml

Filed — climate data, scientific record, and measurement practice — https://f451labs.com/filed/index.xml

The Dashboards are deliberately absent. They are live instrument readouts with no article body, and a stored copy of one would be a dead gauge beside an old timestamp. Read them here, where the numbers are still arriving.

Subscribing leaves the same single line in the access log that any other request leaves, and nothing further — the privacy page covers what that line holds.

There is no mailing list, and there will not be one. If a reader is not how you want to follow along, the author keeps a Mastodon account at @mlanser@fosstodon.org.
